A tour of Spiti Valley via Narkanda Sangla, Nako, Kaza,and Kalpa follows the Hindustan–Tibet Highway .also known as the Kinnaur-Spiti circuit .This route provides gradual acclimatization to the high altitude and is typically undertaken in 7 to 12 days. The journey is a high-altitude road trip through cold desert landscapes, ancient monasteries, and remote villages.
Trip overview
Starting point: The journey usually starts from Chandigarh or Shimla.
Best time to visit: May to October is the most suitable time for this circuit, as the roads are generally open and the weather is pleasant. The Manali-Kaza highway is typically closed during the winter.

Kinnaur Valley: The initial phase covers the scenic Kinnaur region, known for its lush valleys and apple orchards.
High-altitude villages: The tour progresses into Spiti, with its barren, high-altitude terrain and unique cold desert ecosystem.

Detailed Itinerary:
Day 1: Chandigarh Arrival – Narkanda (174 Kms / 7-8 Hrs)
Morning Pickup from Chandigarh Airport/Railway station, start your wonderful vacation to Himachal starting from Narkanda. Reach Narkanda within 7 hours and check into the hotel. Spend the evening exploring the place on your own. Dinner and Overnight stay at Hotel in Narkanda.
Day 2: Narkanda – Sangla (160 Kms / 5 Hrs)
After Breakfast starts off your journey from Narkanda towards Sangla via Karcham Dam – The prettiest valley in Himachal. Arrive in Sangla by evening & Check-in to your Hotel. In the evening explore the places on your own. Dinner and Overnight stay at Hotel in Sangla.
Day 03: Sangla – Chitkul – Nako (150 Kms / 5 Hrs)
After Breakfast, visit Chitkul village. Chitkul is the last inhabited village situated near Indo-Tibet border at a distance of 20 km from Sangla. This village lies on the right bank of River Baspa. The most popular attraction of this village is the temple of local goddess ‘ChitkulMaathi’ also known as ‘Mata Devi’. After that get transfer to Nako. Dinner and Overnight stay at Hotel in Nako.
Day 04: Nako – Tabo (63 Kms / 2 Hrs) – Kaza (48 Kms / 1.5 Hrs)
After Breakfast we Attend Prayers in the morning. Tabo Monastery constructed in 996 AD; – not just in Spiti but in the whole of the Tibetan Buddhist world is called Chogs – Khor [‘Doctrinal Circle’ or ‘Doctrinal Enclave’]. It is a complex that holds 9 Temples, 23 Chortens, a Monk’s Chamber & Nun’s Chamber. The monastery contains a large number of Scriptures & Pieces of Art, Wall Painting & Stucco. En-route visits Dhankar Gompa, the traditional Capital of Spiti, sits pretty on a hilltop. Today, more than 160 Lamas reside here. A Statue of Dhyan Buddha where four complete figures of Buddha sit back-to-back is the main attraction of this more than 7TH Century old Monastery Arrive Kaza & check-in to your hotel. Dinner and Overnight stay at the Hotel in Kaza.
Day 05: Kaza (Around Points)
After Breakfast exciting excursion will include Ki Monastery which is believed to be built by Dromton (1008 - 64 AD). Thereafter we head on for Kibber Village and Kibber Sanctuary where you can spot Blue Sheep and Ibex. Our last spot will be Komic Village which is the highest village in Asia, located at a height of 18,000 feet above sea level. The beauty of this place cannot be described in words; it can only be felt and experienced with naked eyes. After such spectacular sightseeing. Dinner and Overnight Stay at Hotel in Kaza.
Day 06: Kaza – Kalpa
After breakfast checkout from the hotel and drive t to Kalpa . On the way, Kalpa Monastery, Narayan Nagini Temple, Maa Chandika Durga Ji Temple, till evening you will reach Kalpa .Check in to the Hotel. Dinner and Overnight Stay at Hotel in Kalpa.
Day 07: Kalpa – Chandigarh –Drop
After Breakfast Checkout from the hotel and drive to Chandigarh. On Arrival Departure Transfer at Railway Station/ Airport for onwards Journey.
